Gain A Deeper Understanding of Your Child's Unique Mind & Abilities

Dr. Greenfield is a skilled diagnostician, applying her expert knowledge of neurodevelopment and cognitive assessment to give families answers.

Dr. Greenfield is a clinical neuropsychologist and school psychologist who specializes in the assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment planning for kids, teens, and young adults.  Across her 12-years of experience in the field, Dr. Greenfield has been recognized as an expert in the field of childhood development and assessment, speaking at national conferences, serving as adjunct faculty to graduate-level psychology programs, and supervising doctoral students in the field of pediatric neuropsychology.  In her clinical practice, Dr. Greenfield commonly assessed children that struggle with neurodevelopmental differences like ADHD, Autism, learning disorders, as well as other social-emotional and behavioral challenges.

Dr. Greenfield's assessment processes prioritizes the child's needs and comfort to ensure a genuine understanding of their abilities.

You don't have to be a scientist to know that stress and anxiety stop you from performing your best!  Dr. Greenfield focuses on providing a no-stress, fun, and flexible experience for your child, so they can show off their true abilities. Kids are given space to share their thoughts, laugh, move, wiggle, and play games with Dr. Greenfield during brain & body breaks. There is no rushing to finish the assessment by the end of the scheduled  session.  Dr. Greenfield works with each student to ensure they are working comfortably, and to their best ability.  Sometimes kids can't muster up full effort to finish testing in one day....and that is OK!  We prioritize flexible scheduling that adapts to each child as we learn more about their needs...otherwise, you are measuring the child's fatigue and not their true ability.

Dr. Greenfield guides families through the assessment processes with care and personalized support.

As a parent, it is difficult to watch our children struggle with developmental delays, learning problems, behavioral challenges, and the resulting emotional distress. Finding answers about your child's difficulties is important, but also intimidating.  Dr. Greenfield provides a relaxed, caring space for parents and caregivers to share their concerns, and discuss their assessment goals.  At the end of the assessment, Dr. Greenfield explains the results of the assessment to parents clearly, and maps our the next steps in supporting your child's development, academic success, and general wellbeing. A key part of utilizing the results to promote growth is sharing them with the child so they can feel empowered and positive about their future.  Dr. Greenfield uses age-appropriate langauge to teach each child about their brain's unique combination of strengths and preferences.  When discussing identified challenges, Dr. Greenfield uses neurodiversity-affirming langauge, with age-appropriate metaphors, stories, and brain science so that the child can understand why some things are harder for them, and how they can advocate for themselves.

Why Assessment Matters

As parents, we want our children to be healthy and happy. It is a short list, but a tall order. Children need to feel that they can successfully navigate their world. Their efforts, whether athletic, academic, or in other areas of interest, need to be fruitful. When a child is impacted by a learning disorder or other cognitive difference, even their best efforts to be successful can be thwarted.  When left without meaningful treatment and support, they can feel defeated or hopeless, and their self-esteem often suffers. The first step in supporting a child is helping them to understand their brain, including their own unique strengths as well as validating the challenges that are getting in their way. By developing a tailored support plan based on their unique cognitive profile, we can help a child feel understood, supported, and empowered.
